Deadlines and Marketing

Subject: Journalism

DEADLINE 1, DUE NOV. 14: Teacher assignments. Students have been assigned partners and pages.

  • Students are required to submit photos and interviews for their pages.
  • Students are required to complete their assigned pages by 11/14/16
  • Students are required to follow interview strategies as instructed by the text and teacher notes.
  • Students are required to submit photos using creative strategies as instructed by the teacher and text.
  • Students are allowed to use photos for their pages that have been taken by other students, but each student is required to have original photos that they have taken and the photos must be directly related to their assigned pages..
    • Students who cannot arrange to attend any school event that relates to their pages have been instructed to take pictures and schedule interviews during school hours--specifically during 1st when possible.

DEADLINE 2, DUE JAN. 2: Student choice. Students work with their chosen partners or individually on their chosen pages.

  • Students are required to submit photos and interviews for their pages.
  • Students are required to complete their assigned pages by 1/2/17
  • Students are required to follow interview strategies as instructed by the text and teacher notes.
  • Students are required to submit photos using creative strategies as instructed by the teacher and text.
  • Students are allowed to use photos for their pages that have been taken by other students, but each student is required to have original photos that they have taken and the photos must be directly related to their assigned pages..
    • Students who cannot arrange to attend any school event that relates to their pages have been instructed to take pictures and schedule interviews during school hours--specifically during 1st when possible.

Marketing:

  • Students are required to professionally market YB campaigns either during school, before school, or after school.
  • Campaigns include price increases and senior ads.
  • If a student chooses to market during school, it must be at a school event during school hours or during his/her assigned lunches AFTER they eat.
  • If a  student chooses to market before school, it must be at a before-school event or at breakfast AFTER he/she eats (if they normally choose to eat breakfast).
  • If a student chooses to market at an after-school event, he/she can choose any appropriate event after discussing it with the teacher; typically, acceptable events are listed at the front of the classroom.
  • Students are asked to sell/attempt to sell business ads to support and promote the yearbook and can choose from a list of contacts that the teacher has on file.
