W.38: Determine the causes and consequences of the Bolshevik Revolution & Russian Civil War
Complete ONE graphic organizer (attached; see below) for each of the following five words:
a) Bolshevik(s)
b) Communism / Communist
c) Marxism / Marxist
d) Bourgeoisie
e) Proletariat
You will have a total of FIVE graphic organizers - one for each word.
You can draw the graphic organizer on a blank piece of paper - you do not need to print it out unless you just really, really want to.
1. Write the word in the middle of the organizer where it states, "word."
2. Provide a definition in your own words in the upper left quarter of the paper where it states, "Definition in your own words." Additionally, use the word in a sentence
3. Write 3 examples of the word in the lower left quarter of the paper where it states, "examples"
4. Write 3 nonexamples of the word in the lower right quarter of the paper where it states "nonexamples"
(a nonexample is NOT a "piece of paper," "dinosaur," etc. A nonexample is something that is opposite of or an antonym of the word being diagrammed.) If I see silly responses, you will be deducted points and motivated to provide additional nonexamples. A non-example is an ANTONYM (or opposite) of the word. Non-examples can include famous people, countries, organizations, or political parties.
5. Write 3 facts and/or characteristics of the word in the upper right quarter of the paper where it states, "facts/characteristics." Alternatively, you can also draw a picture or diagram of the word or concept in this box. I have colored pencils, crayons, and markers you are welcome to use.
