LESSON OVERVIEW:

Learn how to think and write analytically

OBJECTIVE:

Students will be introduced to analytical thinking in preparation for writing responses to discussion questions.

ASSESSMENT / EVALUATION:

 Students will write a 125 - 200 response to a discussion question

INSTRUCTION:

1. Read the introductory lecture (Handout #1)

2. You will pair up to complete this activity. Please do not move around the room to do this. Just grab a partner sitting next to you or near you.

3. Read the Textbook passage and answer the four questions (Handout #2)

4. Discuss your answers with another pair of students.

5. Return to your original partner

6. Now, read the two primary sources in Handout #3 and answer all the questions with your partner.

7. After completing all these steps, provide a response to the discussion question.
