INSTRUCTION: | 1. This assignment consists of four parts. a) Key Terms b) Key Individuals c) Key Documents & Events d) Link Diagram 2. All work must be hand-written. 3. Please print out the attached handout and use it to complete your work. If you are unable to print out the handout, you will need to recreate the handout exactly as you see it. 4. Key Terms: Use Quizlet to complete the vocabulary. Write your words & definitions on a separate sheet of paper. This is the simpliest part of the assignment 5. Key Individuals: For each individual, you will identify the following: a) Nationality or tribe: Nationality is the nation (or country) a person is from. For each Native American you will identify what tribe they were a member of. b) Occupation / Profession: List the profession(s) and/or occupation(s) of each individual. Do not simply write "chief" or "leader". Try to identify what type of chief or leader. Be as specific as possible. c) Actions or Contributions Concerning Westward Movement: You need to write 2-3 sentences about the individual's actions, contributions, impact, etc on westward movement. It does not have to be positive. It could be negative. (Ex. Do NOT write that Abraham Lincoln was president during the Civil War or that he freed the slaves. Neither has anything to do with westward movement - in a direct sense). 6. Key Documents and Events: For each document or event, you will identify the following: a) Date(s): Include the date it was signed or happened or the start date and end date if that is what is needed. b) Who and/or Which Countries Involved: This will normally include two or more different parties. This can be people and nations or two or more nations or two or more people. c) Where did it Happen? Simply put, where did the event happen or where was the document signed. d) What Happened and Why is it Significant? Give me a brief summary of what happened or what the document was about and the significance or impact of the event or document. 7. Link Analysis: a) Using your work on Key Individuals and Key Documents and Events, you will make connections between the different individuals. b) Draw a line between two or more individuals if there is a connection between them. c) On the line, you will write a short bullet (name of the event) about what connects the two individuals. 8. If you are in the classroom, you will turn in your handout to me. If you are quarantined, you will take a picture of each page, upload it and submit it in Schoology. 9. Due date is to be determined. However, it will probably be Tuesday, September 7th or Wednesday, September 8th. |
