Prior to CCCHS I taught music in grades 6-12 in Wilson County, TN. In addition to Band and Choir I have taught Jazz Band, Ukulele, Piano, and Guitar. Before teaching full-time I taught part-time as a staff member with local marching band programs, and taught private lessons.
I performed as a freelance musician (including at live music venues on historic Broadway in Nashville, TN) on guitar, bass, drum set, piano, and saxophone. I performed for 2 1/2 months as guitarist in the showband/orchestra on the cruise ship The Enchantment of the Seas. I have performed as guitarist in multiple stage productions at the Avalon Ballroom Theater at the Fallsview Casino Resort in Niagara Falls, Canada.
I graduated from Tennessee Tech University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music Education. At TTU I performed in the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Marching Band, Pep Band, Concert Choir, Jazz Bands, and Saxophone Quartets. I performed Rhapsody (Andre Wagnein) as the saxophone contestant in the prestigious Joan Derryberry Concerto Competition my senior year (only one student is chosen from each instrument studio per year).
I graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in Mt. Juliet, TN where I played saxophone (and sometimes drums, piano, or guitar) in the Concert Band, Marching Band, and Winter Drum Line.
I currently play alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and clarinet in the Cedar Creek Community Band, which was founded by and is co-directed by one of my former Band Directors, Mrs. Sherie Grossman. I currently live in Ashland City, TN with my two cats, Buddy and Richie (the boys).
